The Shadow of a “Dream” Cast upon Giardini della Biennale — is the project, curated by the Open Group, which was presented at the Ukrainian pavilion in the 2019 Venice Biennale of contemporary art. Dream — is literary translation of Mriya — Ukrainian aircraft, the biggest in the world. It stirred up a strong public reaction, provoking an animated discussion.

During the event, the speakers shared their experience of cooperation with the government institutions and communication with people opposing the project. They talked about the problems in the contemporary Ukrainian society, state, the national dream, relationship between the past and the future, as well as what it means to be a Ukrainian artist.

The event took place on November 27, 2019, in the Museum of the Odesa Modern Art.
