The Past \/ Future \/ Art memory culture platform helped develop visual communications for the project.<\/b><\/p>\n                <\/div>\r\n            \r\n            \r\n                    <\/div>\r\n    <\/div>\r\n\r\n<\/section>\r\n\r\n\n\n\r\n<section class=\"text-default__block default-block\"\r\n         id=\"text--block_7ba350d4eb74427b5caa279bec2bbbf5\">\r\n\r\n    <div class=\"text-container \">\r\n                <div class=\"text-default__block-grid \">\r\n\r\n                            <div class=\"text-default__content wysiwyg\">\r\n                    <p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under the leadership of Viktoria Mukha, Kyiv City Council\u2019s Coordination Council for the Preparation and Implementation of the Concept for Memorializing the Participants and Events of the Russia-Ukraine War prepared the proposals for the minute of silence public announcements.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As a member of the Coordination Council, <\/span><b>Kateryna Semenyuk<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a Past \/ Future \/ Art co-founder, took on the task of finding a visual solution for public announcements. Also joining the project pro-bono were the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/thisiskultura.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kultura<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> visual communications studio\u2019s Creative Director <\/span><b>Sasha Bychenko<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and Design Strategist <\/span><b>Oleksii Salnikov<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Russia\u2019s war on the Ukrainian people took many, traumatizing and irreversibly changing the rest. I mean all of us: military and civilians, adults and children. Its memory will stay with us and the future generations of Ukrainians. Therefore, we aimed for a gentle reminder without fanfare or decorative formality, a message that is inclusive while not overly traumatizing and confident while understated. The UAF Memory font, intended for this context, and an intentionally stripped-down aesthetic create a distinctly quiet space (in auditory and visual terms) essential for remembering and honoring the fallen.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The initiative marked another step toward establishing the minute of silence as a public practice during the Russian-Ukrainian War. The nationwide minute of silence was introduced in 2022 to honor those killed by the armed aggression of Russia. Iryna Tsybukh, a Hospitaliers battalion paramedic, volunteer, and journalist killed in 2024, proposed additional meaning for this practice. She launched the Minute of Honor, an educational project that aims to reinvent the minute of silence as a moment of pride, gratitude, and unity to make it more than a grief ritual. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/linktr.ee\/momentofhonorukraine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vshanuy NGO<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> later stepped in to further her cause.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anybody can join this honoring act in Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities by placing a public-space digital advertisement about the daily minute of silence at 9:00 am.
